John Wick 4 star Donnie Yen has confirmed he’s not just starring in an upcoming spin-off about his character – he’s also in talks to direct it, although he can’t share much more than that.
When asked about his potential involvement behind the camera, Yen told Collider, “It is true. I think both the fans, as well as the studio, want this to happen, and we’ll see. I don’t know. I can only tell you that much. But yes, we are talking, and we are talking intimately. We’ll see what happens.”
Yen plays Caine in the franchise, a blind former High Table assassin who must kill John Wick by order of the Marquis (Bill Skarsgård), otherwise his daughter will be murdered. A spin-off movie about the character was first announced back in May 2024.
Yen is also known for starring in the Ip Man series of martial arts movies, as well as directing films like Legend of the Wolf, Shanghai Affairs, and, most recently, The Prosecutor.
Next up from the world of John Wick is Ballerina, starring Ana de Armas as E..

(Spoiler Alert :) 59 Years Later, ‘Dune’s Latest Twist Just Set Up Paul Atreides’ Greatest Villain
Bad SistersDune Just Quietly Flipped the Script on Its Greatest VillainsAre the Harkonnens evil or just messed up?
by Ryan Britt6 hours agoHBO/Warner BrosDuneWe may receive a portion of sales if you purchase a product through a link in this article. In Dune: Prophecy, we’ve not gotten to the point where everyone in House Harkonnen shaves their head and starts loving sadism, but the series is certainly laying the groundwork for how and why the most depraved and arrogant group in the Imperium became that way. While Dune: Prophecy draws on previously established lore from Frank Herbert’s Dune (1965), it fleshes out those specifics from much newer books. In fact, the extended flashback in the third episode, “Sisterhood Above All,” focuses on a pivotal murder from the book Mentats of Dune, published just 10 years ago, in 2014.
It’s in this moment, and the episode overall, that we begin to understand the long rivalry between House Atreides and House Harkonnen. Yes, House Atreides has a right .. -

Kraven the Hunter Director Calls on Fans to ‘Give Our Film a Chance’ After Sony’s Spider-Man Universe Missteps
The disastrous Morbius and Madame Web films have put a serious dent in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe despite the relative commercial success of Tom Hardy’s Venom trilogy. But upcoming effort Kraven the Hunter is an opportunity for fans to “wash away” those missteps, according to its director.
Venom, Morbius, and Madame Web received negative reviews from critics, and while the franchise has grossed over $2 billion worldwide, Morbius and Madame Web were high-profile box office flops, with Spider-Woman actress Sydney Sweeney even poking fun at the latter.
Speaking to ComicBook, Kraven the Hunter director J.C. Chandor called on fans to give the film a chance, with those previous movies still fresh in the memory.
“I don’t want to get too into the nitty gritty of it, but here’s what I would say: for me as a filmmaker, my number one goal, especially, quite frankly, over the last couple of years where you guys are deep in this world… Some of the fans out there, a lot of the fans, were upset with .. -
Scottish movie star James McAvoy, arguably best known for his role as Charles Xavier in the X-Men movies, is currently doing the press rounds for his new psychological horror thriller ‘Speak No Evil’ and during a recent promo event was asked to name his favourite game.
Appearing on an episode of ‘Hot Ones’ Versus with Mackenzie Davis, McAvoy cited Square’s legendary 1993/94 RPG Super Nintendo release Secret of Mana as his favourite game of all time. He labelled it a “cool” but “niche” game and unfortunately his co-star wasn’t able to guess what it was – instead name-dropping titles like Wolfenstein 3D, Donkey Kong Country, Mortal Kombat and Zelda.
This exchange ended up getting shared on the official Mana series account on social media:
If you haven’t ever had the chance to experience this game before, it’s well worth a look. Although it’s not available on Switch Online’s Super Nintendo service, you can still access it on the Switch via the Collection of Mana series, which also cont..

The first trailer for Marvel Studio’s Thunderbolts was released Monday morning and seemed to elicit a generally good vibe from fans. The film brings together some of the MCU villains and anti-heroes, and introduces the Sentry (Lewis Pullman), who is making his live-action debut. Sentry also gained an additional finger along the way for some reason on the poster.
A poster was released shortly after the trailer dropped showing the team cramped together in awkward posing, and it’s one of the better-designed posters we’ve seen in recent years. However, fans noticed that AI might have been used to extend the original frame as Bob/Sentry has six fingers on his hand. Something he did not have in the trailer.
Gallery There is a clear shot of Bob holding up both hands as he meets the team, who give the man a quizzical look when he wanders into the frame in his pajamas. In the poster released, Bob’s right hand has six visible fingers. If this is the result of AI, it certainly wouldn’t be the fir.. -
HBO’s Green Lantern series may have found one of its stars. After reports that Josh Brolin turned down the leading role in Lanterns, Friday Night Lights star Kyle Chandler is reportedly the top choice to play one of Earth’s veteran Green Lanterns, Hal Jordan.
According to Deadline, Chandler is currently in negotiations to star in Lanterns, but his deal hasn’t been closed yet. The series was announced last year as part of the new DC Universe reboot overseen by James Gunn and Peter Safran. Lanterns has been likened to a superhero story mixed with True Detective, with Jordan and rookie Green Lantern John Stewart investigating a series of murders in the American midwest. The decision to cast a 59-year-old actor as Hal Jordan also suggests that his character has been active for decades. So far, John Stewart has not yet been cast.
Since Friday Night Lights ended in 2011, Chandler has primarily appeared in films including Super 8, Argo, Zero Dark Thirty, The Wolf of Wall Street, Game Night, a.. -

Transformers Producer Provides Updates on the Future of the Series and the G.I. Joe Crossover
Transformers One isn’t in theaters until later this week, but franchise producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura is already looking toward the series’ next moves.
Di Bonaventura provided a few updates in a recent interview with Collider, teasing his plans for the series in both live action and animation. As for the latter, di Bonaventura says they’re planning on a sequel to Transformers One, depending on its success at the box office, and it will “exist completely separately to whatever we do live-action.” The first animated Transformers movie in more than 40 years is currently tracking for a decent debut in the $30 million range domestically, according to Deadline.
On the live-action front, di Bonaventura confirmed that the next live-action Transformers film, following Rise of the Beasts, will be the G.I. Joe crossover that was officially revealed at CinemaCon earlier this year. At the time, Paramount said that movie would hit theaters in 2025 or 2026. Di Bonaventura cautioned that it’s still..
